Steelcase replacement file hanging rails NEW STYLE
For Steelcase Metal Lateral File Cabinets made on or after 5/5/97
These NEW STYLE replacement Steelcase file bars are for filing side to side in freestanding Steelcase lateral file units or Steelcase file cabinets. These Steelcase file bars will replace file bars for Steelcase 900 series file bars for Steelcase 800 series file bars for Steelcase Firstfile 100 series file bars for Steelcase 200 series and will replace file bars for Steelcase Answer Series. If you need a file bar for a Steelcase file cabinet and the Steelcase file cabinet meets the criteria below then this will serve as the correct replacement file bar for your Steelcase file cabinet or Steelcase lateral file cabinet.
16-gauge steel Zinc plated.
How to tell if you need Old style or New style lateral rails:
- Open the file drawer. If the inside drawer is black, the cabinet was manufactured after 5/5/1997. These are the rails you need. Please place your order above.
- If your Steelcase cabinet walls have two slits for the bar to hook into instead of just one, then you will need our Steelcase New Style replacement rod
- If the inside of the drawer is the same color as the outer cabinet body, the cabinet was manufactured before 5/5/1997. You will then need our Old Style Steelcase rails.

These will fit the following lateral file cabnets manufactured AFTER May 5 1997.

Because not all file folder rails will not work with all cabnets you will need to identify your exact model of file cabinet and the date of manufacture. Please follow these steps to identify your specific file cabinet.
• Open the top drawer of the file cabinet.
• Locate the manufacturing sticker underneath the cabinet lid.
• Copy the file cabinet Model Number and Date of Manufacture from this sticker.
• Match both the Date of Manufacture and the Model Number.
These file folder arms will fit a select group of 30" wide Steelcase file cabnets. Please review the following first few characters of your Model Numer to confirm your specific file cabinet series. You will still need to confirm your date of manufacture.
